Manchester City signing Frank Lampard aims to play on for England this season. The Daily Star says Lampard and skipper Steven Gerrard resolved to retire after the Three Lions' hugely disappointing loss against Uruguay at the World Cup.
But after taking time out to consider his international future, Lampard's desire to carry on for England has been rekindled by his short-term move to champions City before joining MLS side New York City in January.
The 36-year-old now plans to make himself available for boss Roy Hodgson for the six games this year prior to his move to America.
He still feels he can do a job for England and is keen to get as much playing time for club and country prior to starting afresh in the States.
