Manchester City intend to increase the capacity of the Etihad.
The Independent says City will table plans to expand capacity at both sides of their Etihad Stadium, giving them the potential to reach a 60,000 capacity after they have added a third tier to their South Stand.
City had 99.1 per cent capacity for their Premier League games last season, intend to build on a high volume of sell-outs by taking the capacity to 54,000 with the new tier. They will leapfrog Newcastle and Sunderland to command the third highest capacity in the Premier League, after Manchester United and Arsenal.
