Man City scramble to beat Man Utd for Inter Milan starlet Balotelli

Manchester City are moving to trump Manchester United for Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli. Gazzetta dello Sport says Balotelli has agreed personal terms with United and his agent, Mino Raiola, is scheduled to meet with Inter president Massimo Moratti to discuss the situation.

City boss Roberto Mancini remains determined to beat United for his former Inter prodigy and will offer €35 million cash in the coming days.

That bid will meet the valuation of Moratti, but Balotelli will still need some persuading about choosing City ahead of United.

City's lack of Champions League football next season is a stumbling block, as is the crowded path to regular first team football at Eastlands when compared with United.
