Man City's Tevez named PFA's player of March

In-form Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been named the PFA's Fans' Player of the Month for March.

The red hot Argentine has guided City to fourth on the Premier League table with his performances in the final monthly award for the season.

He has now taken his league goal tally to 20 and his performances have not gone unnoticed by manager Roberto Mancini who believes Tevez would only get better if he was competing in Europe.

"Carlos compares with any striker," Mancini said. "But Wayne Rooney plays in the Champions League for Manchester United. Lionel Messi plays in the Champions League for Barcelona.

"If Carlos was in the Champions League he would be at the same level because he is one of the best players in the world.

"Carlos is a world-class striker who has shown that he is in top form," he added.

"He is not just putting the ball in the net, though. His team ethic is fantastic and he has a good understanding with the players around him. His movement and pace worries defenders and he is clever, too."
