Man City's Mancini under no illusions with Champions League task

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is well aware just how hard his teams Champions League plight will be.

So far, City have taken one point from their opening two matches against Napoli and Bayern Munich and it doesn't get any easier when they meet Villarreal next Tuesday.

But despite the enormous task ahead of them, Mancini still believes City have a solid chance of making it through to the next phase.

"It's a tough group," he toldIl Domani dello Sport.

"Villarreal are almost out, there are three teams for two spots.

"I think that with 9-10 points the qualification is possible. Napoli-Bayern will be the key match: it won't be decisive, but will give a direction to the whole group.

"Bayern are very strong, but in Munich there were two clear penalties for us when the score was 0-0. Their goals were casual and we were out of the match after 2-0."
