Man City's Johnson attends funeral of late Rushden keeper Roberts

Manchester City winger Adam Johnson was among the mourners at the funeral of Rushden & Diamonds goalkeeper Dale Roberts.

The 24-year old was found dead at his home in Higham Ferrers, Rushden last month and the funeral took place at St Mary's Church in County Durham.

Johnson and Roberts grew up together in Horden, County Durham, playing football in the youth academy at Middlesbrough ahead of Roberts' move to Nottingham Forest in 2005.

Johnson appeared devastated according to reports and was joined by Middlesbrough first team players David Wheater and Matthew Bates.
