Man City's Fernandinho not keen on empty stadium in Moscow

Fernandinho does not believe an empty stadium will help Manchester City in this week's Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow.

There is still a ban on supporters of the Russian club attending the Khimki Arena meaning Tuesday's Group E fixture will be played in front of barren stands.

City could be excused for believing that playing the match in front of no home fans could be an advantage but Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho, who has experienced the same twice before, does not necessarily think so.

"I have experienced it twice," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"The first time was in Brazil and the second time was when I was playing for Shakhtar against Inter in Milan.

"Fans were banned from the stadium on both occasions and it is different. You have to keep your concentration on the pitch and try to win the game."

City are in desperate need of a win when they tackle CSKA after losing to Bayern Munich and drawing with Roma in their first two fixtures of the Champions League this season.
