Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry has been suspended for one match and fined by the Football Association.
The England international used abusive language towards a match official after the 3-2 home loss to Manchester United last Sunday and will now miss this weekend's trip to Newcastle United and have to cough up an £8,000 fine.
Barry, who abused fourth official Mark Clattenburg in the tunnel after the final whistle, has decided to accept the sanction.
"Both the club and Gareth Barry reluctantly accept the punishment which leads to Gareth being unavailable to take part in the weekend's match against Newcastle," read a statement on the club's official website.
