Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is joining the race for Marseille fullback Taye Taiwo.
The Mirror says Taiwo, 23, once voted Africa's top rising talent, wants to join the Premier League - and Manchester City are trying to beat Roy Keane's Sunderland to give him that chance.
Taiwo, best pals with Everton's Jospeh Yobo, has been a Marseille regular for four seasons.
