Manchester City have reached a breakthrough with Velez Sarsfield over talks for Thiago Almada.

Record says City will complete the signing of Almada next week.

City have been linked with the 18-year-old Argentinian, but have so far been unable to agree a fee for the forward. Almada has three goals and two assists in 16 senior appearances, as well as one goal for Argentina U20s in seven caps.

Now, City are confident of completing the signing from Velez Sarsfield, with the club prepared to spend the €22m asking price.

Almada will be loaned to Sporting CP for two years.
