Salford City are seeking new training facilities.

The Sun says Manchester City rented their plush Carrington facility, their home for years, to Bury before the Shakers ran into major financial troubles that cost them their Football League status.

News of a potential deal at around £80,000-a-year has come to the attention of many clubs with their eyes on a top-level training centre.

Gary Neville, 44, is looking for a base for his Salford City side and knows the area well as it is close to where his old club Manchester United are still based.

Salford have been searching for a better working HQ to match their ambitions after several failed attempts to find the right place.
