Manchester City players are believed to be right behind the potential appointment of Patrick Vieira as manager. The Daily Mail reports that City's stars believe Elite Development Squad boss Vieira is perfectly suited to replace Manuel Pellegrini in the Etihad Stadium's top job if the clubs owners opt to get rid of the Chilean in the summer.

Vieira has been refining his craft with City's youth teams since 2011 and is open to stepping into senior management if the reigning champions decide to go that way.
