Manchester City are planning to upset Real Madrid's pursuit of Inter Milan right-back Douglas Maicon. City boss Roberto Mancini reportedly is keen to bring the Brazilian to Eastlands to reunite with him but incoming Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is also intent on brining his man with him.

Amidst the speculation, Maicon said he is focusing on the World Cup with Brazil before making any decision on his future.

"My only thought is about doing the quadruple," he said. "I dream of winning the World Cup after having won the Champions League, Scudetto and Coppa Italia.

"When the World Cup is over, they will tell me where I'll play next year."
