Manchester City are closing in on a deal for Napoli star Edinson Cavani. Gazzetta dello Sport says Napoli will be forced to sell the Uruguay international if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.
City are already in contact as manager Roberto Mancini pushes for Cavani as a replacement for want-away centre-forward Edin Dzeko.
Cavani could be followed out of Napoli by coach Walter Mazzarri, with president Aurelio de Laurentiis already considering Bologna boss Stefano Pioli as a possible replacement.
