Manchester City have reportedly commenced negotiations with Swansea City regarding Wilfried Bony.
Varying reports suggest that the reigning Premier League champions are looking at spending around £25million on the Ivory Coast international who is set to link up with his national team on Friday ahead of the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
Swans chairman Huw Jenkins said on Wednesday that his club had received no offers for Bony but it is believed that City are intent on luring him to the Etihad Stadium in January.
Due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, Bony would be ineligible to represent City in the Champions League but the potential arrival of the former Vitesse Arnhem ace would certainly strengthen their Premier League hopes.
Since arriving at the Liberty Stadium from Holland in July 2013, 26-year old Bony has fired home 25 goals in 53 Premier League outings for a total of 34 in 69 for the Welsh club.
