Manchester City have made a serious move for AZ Alkmaar midfielder Adam Maher.

London outfits Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been linked with Maher, but it appears he is now set to link up with Roberto Mancini's side for next season, says the Daily Express.

Reports on the continent suggest that Manchester City have already entered in discussions with AZ over the signing of the midfielder.

Maher is expected to cost around €18m (£15.4m), and will help bring more creativity to the reigning Champions who have struggled to challenge for the title this season.
