Pablo Zabaleta is adamant that Manchester City are a lot stronger now than they were in the early stages of the Champions League.
City drew 1-1 with the Italian side at the Etihad Stadium in early October which has contributed to them needing at least a draw in Rome on Wednesday night to progress to the Round of 16.
According to Argentine full-back Zabaleta, the reigning Premier League champions are back in form after four-straight domestic wins and a 3-2 triumph over group leaders Bayern Munich in their most recent European outing which has them beaming with confidence for the crunch meeting with the Giallorossi.
"We are a much better team now than when we played Roma at home and drew 1-1," said Zabaleta.
"Confidence is high at the moment and that's what we need to play against Roma and win the game. We know it's a crucial game in the Champions League to go through to the next round.
"Rome is always a very difficult place to go and win. They have a very good team and they're second in the Italian league. It's going to be a very tough game but if we continue playing in this way we'll have a good chance to qualify."
