Eliaquim Mangala has stated that Manchester City will be able to compete with the best teams in Europe if they are able to replicate their second half performance against Borussia Monchengladbach.

City produced a stunning comeback to claim a 4-2 Champions League victory over Monchengladbach at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night and it was a late three-goal blitz in the last ten minutes which helped the Citizens overturn a first-half deficit.

Defender Mangala was left very pleased with the response from his side and has stated that City will be able to beat the top teams in the competition if they can replicate a similar second half performance to the one which they produced against the Germans.

Mangala told the club's official website: "We have to learn from the first half, and keep going, and keep working, like we did in the second half.

"We have finished top of the table and we will see what happens in the draw, but we know we have to improve in this competition.

"If we start like we did in the second half we can beat some top teams, but it depends on us. If we play like we did in the second half, we can do something good."
