Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has admitted no one in the squad is watching Liverpool or assessing the league table.
City have endured a sub par start to the season, while the Reds are a perfect 8 for 8 in the league.
It means City are already adrift of first position in the league, a fact Gundogan does not appreciate.
The Citizens were beaten 2-0 at home by Wolves on Sunday.
"When you are in front and top of the table, it feels great to look at it," Gundogan told BBC Sport.
"Now it is tougher to look at it, there is quite a gap already and none of us are watching the table now.
"We will get opportunities in the upcoming months but at the moment it is something we have to accept and live with."
