Manchester City have made a sensational move for Barcelona teen Lamine Yamal.

Yamal's contract expires in 2024, but a month ago transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated that the parties had agreed on a new three-year deal.

The 16-year-old has yet to sign the new contract and according to Mundo Deportivo, City have tried to sign him this summer.

The English giants' plan was to loan Yamal to sister club Girona for a few seasons, then bring him to Manchester City when he is ready.

However, agent Jorge Mendes has assured Barcelona that there are no problems regarding the teen's contract extension.

Yamal has managed to play two competitive matches for Barcelona at senior level.
