Manchester City have moved ahead of Chelsea in the battle for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao. The Sunday Mirror says City boss Roberto Mancini is a long-term admirer of the Atletico Madrid front-man and will not want a repeat of last summer when he missed out of a host of top targets.
Now his hopes of bringing £50million-rated Falcao to the Etihad have been boosted by reports in Spain claiming that the 27-year-old has told his club that he isn't open to a move to Chelsea.
City view the European champions as their biggest threat in the battle to land Falcao.
