Man City keeper Hart wanted to celebrate Swansea save

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart admits he would have looked silly had he celebrated his brilliant save on Sunday.

The England number one made a stunning one-handed save from a goal-bound Federico Fernandez header in the 4-2 win over Swansea City and he has revealed he wanted to rejoice after seeing the ball fly wide of the target.

Hart made the save when the score was still 3-2 in favour of the City who tightened their grip on second spot with the victory.

"Keepers can end up looking very foolish if they start celebrating saves," Hart told the Manchester Evening News.

"It would have been nice if the whistle had been blown straight after it that would have made it a lot easier to enjoy.

"It felt good at the time, but to finish the job off made it better.

"It was more important for me in that it helped us win the game, and came at an important time when it was 3-2.

"It was sloppy defending on our behalf and that has been poor from us this season - we have not been good enough from set-pieces. But I am happy to make the save and make it count."
