Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is believed to be keen on Osasuna right-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
The Welsh tactician reportedly flew to watch the Pamplona club draw with Spanish powerhouse Barcelona on Saturday even though City had a game at Birmingham City the following day.
Reports have also suggested that Hughes was in Spain to discuss Robinho and the potential of Thierry Henry making the move to Eastlands but Barcelona sporting director Tiki Beguiristain said that deal was not on the agenda.
"We didn't speak about Robinho. It wasn't the time for those sort of questions," said Beguiristain.
Hughes has his sights set on 20-year old Azpilicueta who has represented Spain at junior levels from U17 to U21.
Man City rivals including Arsenal and Manchester United are also monitoring the player.
