Manchester City have failed with a first offer for West Ham captain Declan Rice.

BBC Sport says City have had a £90m bid rejected by the Irons.

West Ham want £100m to sell the England midfielder, with City's offer being £80m up front plus £10m in bonuses.

Arsenal have also had two offers of £70m and £90m turned down this month.

The Gunners are expected to make a third offer before the end of the week.
