Man City happy to wait for Dzeko deadline to pass

Manchester City are prepared to wait for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.

The Telegraph says City are set to postpone a move for Dzeko until the Bosnian's 40m euro buy-out clause at the German club expires next Monday.

Despite reports in Germany on Thursday that City had begun talks with the player and his advisors, senior City officials are understood to be waiting for Dzeko's buy-out clause to expire at midnight on Monday before making a formal move.

Mancini's interest in Dzeko, who has scored 56 goals in 94 appearances for Wolfsburg since arriving from the Czech club Teplice in 2007, has been confirmed, but City are confident that they can secure the player for less than his current price-tag once his escape clause runs out.
