Manchester City fullback Aleksandar Kolarov has admitted he would love to return to Italy at some stage in his career.

The Serbian spent three seasons with Lazio before joining the Sky Blues in 2010.

"One day I'd like to come back [to Italy]," Kolarov told Il Messaggero.

"Rome stayed in my heart. I've won everything in Manchester, but Italy is something else."

The 31-year old enters the final year of his contract at the Etihad this season, with an extension far from complete.

However, given Pep Guardiola's depleted fullback stocks at City, it is hard to envisage Kolarov's departure happening in the near future.
