Man City fullback Clichy: Hart kept us in Champions League

Manchester City fullback Gael Clichy says Joe Hart has kept their Champions League hopes alive.

The England keeper came up with a superb diving block to keep out the spot kick from Barcelona ace Lionel Messi and restrict the dominant visitors to a 2-1 victory last night.

Now the Blues, who have been far better on their travels this season, head to the Nou Camp on March 18 with new life breathed into their hops of qualifying.

"We always say you have to look for positives and I think this save was a massive one," said Clichy, who watched from the dressing room after being red-carded 17 minutes from the end.

"I am not talking about the quality of Joe, because he is one of the leaders in the dressing room and on the pitch, and this save could be the turning point.

"I am not saying it's going to be easy, and you cannot say this save is going to make us win the game.

"But for sure 2-1 is a different score to 3-1 and we have to look forward."
