Man City face shocking Champions League draw

Manchester City are facing a shocking Champions League draw for next season.

The newly-crowned Premier League champions will be in pot two for the draw in Monaco on August 30 and will face one of the top seeds - Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan or FC Porto - in the group stage.

United, Arsenal and holders Chelsea are also among the top seeds but English teams can't be drawn together until the quarter-finals.

The full list of 32 qualifiers for the group stage won't be known until after the preliminary rounds are completed in August.

But with La Liga winners Real Madrid in pot one, Serie A winners Juventus in pot three and Bundesliga winners Borussia Dortmund likely to be in pot four, City could be handed the daunting task of escaping from a four-team 'champions league' to qualify for the knock-out stages.
