Manchester City have joined the race for Hibs striker Steven Fletcher.
The Daily Mail says the richest club in the world have kick-started inquiries about the 21-year-old Scotland international.
Manager Mark Hughes has asked contacts within the SPL to help form an opinion on Fletcher.
Hibs have the Shrewsbury-born striker tied up on a lengthy contract at Easter Road and, while they insist they are in no rush to sell, are believed to want a minimum £4m.
It is understood two other English Premier League clubs have also made inquiries to Scottish contacts.
Middlesbrough could be one of those, with Gordon McQueen having watched the player this season after he scored twice in a friendly against Gareth Southgate's team at Easter Road. Martin O'Neill's Aston Villa have also been mentioned.
