MAN CITY DOWN UNDER: New boy Sterling targets Roma game for Man City debut

Raheem Sterling could make his debut for Manchester City in the International Champions Cup match against Roma, a week after his much publicised move from Liverpool.

Sterling met his City teammates before their clash with A-League side Melbourne City on the Gold Coast on Saturday night, and will travel with the squad for the remainder of the pre-season tour of Australia and Asia.

City face Roma at the MCG on Tuesday night, before a clash with European heavyweights Real Madrid on Friday at the same venue.

The 20-year-old winger, who cost City an English record £49million ($AUD103.4m) said he hoped make his debut in blue against Roma.

"Hopefully the plan is to play in the Roma game," he told The Age.

"I'm going to be training over the weekend, so hopefully I can be available on Tuesday night."
