Manchester City are continuing to expand their Etihad stadium.

The Daily Mail says City, who are in the process of completing an extra tier on the south stand of their Etihad Stadium that will increase capacity from 47,000 to 54,000 next season, have planning permission to do the same at the other end of the ground.

But the Abu Dhabi owners are not the only ones with doubts about City's fan base being big enough to fill a 62,000-seater venue.

City say they have 9,000 on their season-ticket waiting list but have no intention of starting the second tranche of building work straight away.
