Manchester City reserves coach Kenny Jackett is delighted with the progress being made by the club's young talent.
"The likes of Joe Hart and Michael Johnson have progressed in to the first team. Matthew Mills and Ishmael Miller have gone out on loan, Nathan D'Laryea's moved on to Rochdale, and a few of the other lads have been missing for one reason for another so far.
"As I said it's a different group and we've signed up ten of last year's youth side that really is the basis of our reserve side now.
"So what we have to do is work hard with these boys and make sure that over the next couple of seasons they make very good progress.
"For all of these lads this is their first time adjusting to senior football. They've been very successful in youth football down at the Academy and they now have to make the big transition to senior football."
