Manchester City development coach Patrick Vieira says English football needs to bridge the gap between U21 and first team football.
Vieira believes clubs should have European-style B teams to enable young players to plan "man football".
"The difference is when you play U21s games the gap is massive to the first team," said Vieira. "For English football we need the B teams to play man football.
"We want to keep our players in our club and play with our philosophy. We don't want to send them on loan, we want to keep them and the best way to keep them is to give them the game programme they need, which is man football."
