Manchester City coach David Platt says it's too soon to talk about awards for star midfielder David Silva.

The Spaniard has been hailed as an early contender for player of the season.

Platt said: "He is one exceptional player.

"It is very early to start talking about players of the year.

"There is a long way to go in the season, there are a lot of very good players that are also doing well.

"But equally I would be very surprised if the consistency of his performances went down because we see it on a daily basis."
