Manchester City have upped their offer for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo.
Marca says City have improved on their previous €21 million bid to table terms worth €25 million for the Spain international.
The 27 year-old is a priority target for new City boss Manuel Pellegrini, who feels he will suit his system better than Napoli centre-forward Edinson Cavani.
City are clear favourites for Negredo after Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido rated Atletico Madrid's chances of landing the forward as "next to zero".
