Manchester City chief Patrick Vieira is being linked with Arsene Wenger's job at Arsenal.
The People says Wenger calling time on his 17-year reign could pave the way for Gunners legend Vieira's return to north London.
Vieira, Wenger's former skipper, is proving a big hit as coach of Manchester City's under-21 side and his name is being mentioned as part of a management team that could eventually succeed Wenger.
One option being explored is the appointment of a director of football with Vieira as head coach, allowing the former midfielder to take a role alongside an experienced figurehead.
But luring him back to London won't be easy.
Vieira, 37, is one of the most-wanted young coaches in Europe, with Inter Milan - another of his former clubs - also coveting him.
