Manchester City chief Patrick Vieira is full of praise for Juventus dynamo Paul Pogba.

It's understood Vieira recommended Juve to Pogba while he was deciding whether to leave Manchester United last summer.

"I think this is the next great midfielder of the team of France. He is calm and very strong technically. He will surely score a lot more goals than me," laughed Vieira.

"He has a better shot. At his age, it is necessary to be playing at Juve. I was with AC Milan, where I played five matches in one year. It is better to be playing at this same age.

"Only time will tell, but I think he has the qualities to make a great career."
