Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has ruled out swapping for rivals Liverpool next season.

Gundogan is out of contract in the summer, while Liverpool need new midfielders.

Speculation has linked the German with a reunion with ex-Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp at the Reds.

Speaking to German media outlet Kicker, he stated: "I think I can rule out that happening!

"Everyone knows how much I like and appreciate Kloppo. But I've been at City for a few years now.

“And now as City captain to rival Liverpool? No, I can not imagine [it]."
