Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini was satisfied with victory at Wolves.
Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri struck in the 2-0 win.
Mancini said: "It was so-so, I don't think we gave as good a performance as against Norwich, but today it was important that we won. We were OK, but our performance was not perfect.
"Maybe it was because we knew that we needed to win, or maybe because before we thought this game was going to be easy. I said it would be difficult because of Wolves' position near the bottom of the table.
"We had a lot more chances to score, and I'm unhappy about it because we made a few mistakes but it was just important that we won."
