Man City boss Mancini hit by midfield crisis going into Champions League debut

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini insists they can handle their midfield crisis.

As he faced up to the prospect of being without Nigel de Jong and possibly Gareth Barry and James Milner against Napoli, Mancini is unconcerned by what others may view as a significant disadvantage.

"Manchester United are more lucky than us!" said Mancini. "But this is not important.

"The pitch is always the same, home or away. We still play 11 v 11. 'What is important is that we recover after every game because playing in the Champions League is very hard.

"The game after a Champions League game is always a problem for teams, but this is why you build a big squad because it makes it possible to make four or five changes."
