Man City boss Mancini furious missing out on Spurs pair Walker, Sandro

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is furious they failed to land Tottenham pair Kyle Walker and Sandro over the summer.

The Daly Star Sunday says City made an approach to Spurs for England defender Walker and Brazil's Sandro.

But there was no joy for Mancini, who instead clinched late transfer-window deals for Maicon as an additional right-back and Garcia, as the holding midfielder he wanted.

Brazil's Maicon, 31, was snapped up for a cut-price figure of around £3million after previously playing for Mancini at Inter Milan.

Garcia, 25, cost nearer £16m after the Spain international moved from Benfica in Portugal.
