Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini denies he played for a draw in Saturday's defeat to Manchester United.

This morning, Mancini was again asked about taking off Adam Johnson for Patrick Vieira with the derby at 0-0.

"Against United I played with Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, Craig Bellamy and Johnson for almost 75 minutes," said Mancini.

"If I wanted to defend for a draw I would have played with just Tevez up front on his own and five in midfield."
