Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes a move for AS Roma star Daniele De Rossi is a non-starter.

Mancini said he wouldn't be surprised if De Rossi, who is also a target for Chelsea and Real Madrid, puts pen to paper on a new deal at Roma.

He told Corriere Dello Sport: "It's difficult to lure a Roman footballer and a Roma fan away from Roma.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he were to renew his contract."
