Man City boss Hughes pleased with Taylor debut

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes was pleased to hand former Aston Villa goalkeeper Stuart Taylor a debut in their 1-1 draw with 1860 Munich.

Taylor, signed from Aston Villa this summer, made a decent start to his City career but could do little about the brilliant free kick delivered by Alexander Ludwig from just outside the box to put Munich ahead.

Hughes said: "Set plays in pre-season are always a worry because you are not able to do all the homework you would like on the opposition.

"But to be fair to the guy it was a great finish."
