Manchester City boss Mark Hughes was delighted to see Valeri Bojinov score his first goal in a year during yesterday's 2-2 friendly result against Stockport.
"Today, it was a case of getting a little bit more game time into a number of the players.
"For instance Javi Garrido hasn't had much football in the pre-season because of injury and I thought he did well to play as long as he did.
"We had a young side as well and Vladi [Weiss] came in and he'll benefit from that."
Tal Ben Haim made his debut and Hughes added: "He hasn't had any game time either so we had planned to give him 45 minutes, but in the end we were able to give him about 60 minutes, and that was important."
