Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has promised legend David Silva a proper farewell one day.

Silva got a standing ovation from the handful of people who were at the Etihad Stadium on his final Premier League appearance for the team.

He helped the team to a 5-0 thrashing of Norwich, and it was his 309th league appearance for the club.

"It was the smallest standing ovation of all time," Guardiola told reporters after the game.

"He will come back for the one he deserves.

"The players showed the gratitude that has to happen for these incredible years.

"We just want to thank him."
