Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is convinced by the potential of summer signing Kalvin Phillips.
The England international, who made the move to City from Leeds United earlier this summer, was an unused substitute during Saturday's 3-1 Community Shield loss to Liverpool.
Looking ahead to the start of the new season and beyond, City boss Guardiola declared that he was in no doubt that Phillips is 'going to help us.'
“He has confidence, he can play, he is ready to play," the City boss asserted as he addressed the media following the Community Shield clash.
“He arrived just two weeks (ago). We have Rodri, Bernardo, Gundogan and they know [City's style] - but step by step he will get it.
“He's an incredibly nice person. The season is long - many games - and he is going to help us."
