Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has explained the shock Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden absences in the Premier League on Sunday.
City had to take on Tottenham away from home without two of their most creative players.
Foden was not in the squad for the game, while De Bruyne only came off the bench later in the game.
"He was there yesterday in the hotel," Guardiola told reporters on Foden.
"He felt unwell all night. Really, really bad, and [we decided] he should come back to Manchester."
On De Bruyne, he struck a different tone regarding leaving out the Belgian midfielder.
Guardiola was asked by Sky Sports about benching De Bruyne and whether the decision was tactical. He responded: "Definitely."
