Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is full of praise for veteran David Silva.

The Spaniard scored an excellent goal during a 5-0 hammering over Newcastle United.

The result does not mean much for City in the league, as they are virtually guaranteed to finish in second place.

But Guardiola was delighted with how Silva performed in the game, as he approaches the end of his career with City.

"The level he is having I think is the best of this season," Guardiola told BT Sport.

"He's playing really, really good.

"Okay, the fans are not here, but he's coming back to make the farewell game in front of the fans.

"He's an incredible legend.

"He's a huge competitor.

"In small spaces, in the pockets, I never saw a player like him."
