Man City boss Guardiola blows fuse: I had 48 questions - 35 were about Mikel!

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola blew his fuse after their Carabao Cup victory over Oxford United.

After goals from Joao Cancelo and Raheem Sterling had booked City's place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals via a hard-fought win, Guardiola gave a blunt response when asked about assistant manager Mikel Arteta's future.

"I don't know," Guardiola said, when probed on whether Arteta is going to take the reins at Arsenal - who sacked his compatriot Unai Emery three weeks ago.

Guardiola then let his fury show as he was pressed on speculation Arteta will rejoin Arsenal during his post-match press conference.

"This season he's been with us, we prepare the game as best as possible, before and during," Guardiola said. "I don't have any comment, there is no news.

"Yesterday, I had 48 questions - 35 were about Mikel. When there's news I will answer it but there's no news. So I answer those questions by saying I don't answer any more."
